House Renovations

Renovations to the Chapter House are always ongoing. Following replacement of the front porch in 2019, the Foundation and its contractors turned their attention on the Annex and the systems servicing the Chapter House in 2020. In 2021 we performed cosmetic work on the exterior of the building; and in 2022 we resolved some long existing structural issues and replaced the flooring in the Chapter House. In 2023, an alumni graciously donated new sod for the front lawn and the front parking lot/back lot was repaved. If you’re in Chapel Hill, stop by to meet the Brothers and see our progress.

Summer 2023

During Summer ’23 the lawn was resodded and new mulch was laid. This gave the house a much-needed landscaping upgrade. Big thank you to alumni Jeff Bland for these renovations. The front parking lot and back lot were also repaved.

Summer 2022

During Summer ’22 we made extensive structural repairs to the foundation of the main house and replaced all the flooring on the lower level.

Summer 2021

During Summer ’21 we’ve made exterior repairs to both buildings repainting both structures a bright Carolina Blue and improving the landscape.

Winter Break 2020

During Winter Break ’20 the Annex got a little exterior love with a new roof and a repointed chimney.

Winter Break 2019 – Summer 2020

Starting over Winter Break ’19 and progressing through Summer ’20, Gamma Nu Foundation renovated the Annex. Work included replacement of the HVAC system, water heater, drywall repair, interior paint and new carpets and tile flooring. Additionally, the Chapter House saw the installation of new HVAC systems throughout, as well as upgrades to the fire alarm system and installation of the new kitchen dishwasher and freezer. Summer 2019

Gamma Nu Foundation renovated the front porch of the Chapter House.  Improvements included the complete reconstruction of the front porch, porch roof and deck with installation of new lighting, as well as other electrical upgrades and enhancements.  Check out the Gallery below to see.
